Mr. Sakir Hossain: A Global Luminary of Justice and Compassion

In the vibrant tapestry of India’s human rights movement, Mr. Sakir Hossain shines as an eminent Human Rights Defender, a skilled Practising Advocate before the High Court at Calcutta, and a pioneering Social Reformer. His relentless dedication to equity, justice, and uplifting marginalized voices has sparked inspiration worldwide. As the visionary architect and Chairperson of the Universal Diplomatic Affairs of Human Rights (UDAHR), he has crafted an international beacon for advancing humanity, peace, communal harmony, and social equity. With his profound legal expertise and grassroots passion, Mr. Sakir bridges local and global efforts to dismantle human rights abuses, galvanizing a movement for a fairer world.

A Life Shaped by Purpose and Principle

Hailing from the culturally rich Pandua Block at Hooghly District in West Bengal, India, Mr. Sakir Hossain’s early life was imbued with values of patriotism, integrity, and heartfelt empathy for the disadvantaged. These ideals kindled a lifelong commitment to societal good and selfless service, positioning him as a global symbol of compassion and fairness. His academic journey began at the renowned from “PanduaSasibhusan Saha High School” and later earned a degree from “Bejoy Narayan Mahavidyalaya” at Itachuna. Driven by his over 15 years of human rights activism, he inspired on law studies and thereafter pursued Law Degree from the “Balasore Law College” in Odisha, and become a licensed advocate which strengthen his obligations of human rights activism. Prior to that his perused degree on Bachelor of Science in Hotel Management from “Madurai Kamaraj University” in Tamil Nadu and accordingly combined with seven years of practical experience as a hotelier, enriched his activism with hospitality, management, strategic vision, and a unique ability to unite diverse communities. Before his professional ascent, as a Cadet of the National Cadet Corps, being the Senior-under-Officer (Golden Rank) under the 43 Bengal Battalion NCC (Army Wing), he developed leadership, teamwork, discipline, sense of service and a deep-rooted commitment to secularism and national unity, equipping him to lead transformative change on both national and global stages.

As a distinguished Human Rights Defender with 15 years of impactful activism, Mr. Sakir Hossain has championed justice, resolving over 3,000 cases of human rights violations, discrimination, and social inequities through his dedicated work with several national and international organizations. His immersion in NGO administration exposed critical systemic gaps—such as organizational insincerity, untrained advocates, disregard for national human rights standards, political interference, and inadequate support for groups like women, children, minorities, indigenous communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, the elderly, and environmental causes. Through pro bono legal aid, strategic campaigns, and educational outreach, he amplifies the voiceless, engaging in legal battles, peaceful demonstrations, and nationwide awareness initiatives to address indigenous rights, gender-based violence, ecological preservation, and policy transformation.

• Pioneering Leadership of UDAHR

With a bold vision to bridge gaps in human rights frameworks, Mr. Sakir Hossain founded the Universal Diplomatic Affairs of Human Rights (UDAHR) on September 11, 2018, in India as the Non-Governmental, Non-Political, and Non-Profitable Public Trust following with the principles of Article 19(1)(c) of the Indian Constitution and registered under Indian Registration Act, is grounded in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, 1948, International Treaties, and India’s Constitutional ethos. As its Founder & Chairperson, he drives the UDAHR’s mission with strategic clarity, focusing on advocacy, legal support, humanitarian aid, policy analysis, and capacity enhancement. Under his leadership, the UDAHR flourishes through transparent governance, guided by an expert Board of Trustees and Advisory Board, and fosters collaborations with the Governments, NGOs, and global entities like the United Nations. Serving pro bono, Mr. Sakir’s inclusive, principled, and democratic leadership aligns UDAHR with the Indian National Policies and International commitments, empowering local communities and establishing it as a global force for dignity, justice, and equality.
